Theia | Sara Kow-Falcone
On August 14th, Theia, an exhibition of alternative process photographs reflecting a variety of cultural traditions, will open at Buffalo’s CEPA Gallery. My dear and brilliant friend, Sara, has featured me as one of the models for her project.
“Theia is the mother of the sun in the Greek mythological tradition, and given the centrality of light to photography, she is a worthy muse for Kow-Falcone’s exploration of the many influences informing her perspective as a photographic artist, as well as her notion of self. Positing the artist as a creator like Theia, this eclectic exhibition illustrates how the interplay between the notion of influence and an artist’s unique vision combines to create a cumulative portrait of the artist.”

Unfinished Women Cry in No Man’s Land While a Bird Dies in a Gilded Cage
In March 2027 I will be playing Consuelo in Unfinished Women Cry in No Man’s Land While a Bird Dies in a Gilded Cage by Aishah Rahman.
In dual story lines, virtuoso saxophonist Charlie Parker contemplates his life as he dies, while a group of young unwed mothers wrestle with their sense of the future and the fates of their children. Music suffuses the atmosphere as the breath of life in these parallel stories where pleasure, pain, heartbreak, and desire comingle.
