Vicka And The Visionaries | New Play Reading Festival
First Look Buffalo will be holding it’s 2026 New Play Reading Festival this year at Canterbury Woods Performing Arts Center. From October 3rd through the 11th, First Look will be premiering 11 new plays. On October 11th I will star as Vicka in the staged reading of Vicka And The Visionaries, written by Dr. Bella Poynton and directed by Lana Sugarman.
Show Synopsis: On June 24, 1986, three Yugoslavian teenagers claim to see an apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the small town of Bruskiva. But unlike other supposed visionaries, Vicka, Nadja, and Jacob insist that the visions don’t stop; they continue every day for two whole years. During a socialist upheaval that makes practicing religion increasingly dangerous, the teenagers refuse to change their story, even as they are poked, prodded, and interrogated by the highest authorities in the Vatican. Loosely inspired by the visionaries of Medjugorje, Vicka and the Visionaries explore the boundaries between faith and fact, asking what counts as proof and what evidence, if any, is enough to make a non-believer believe.

Unfinished Women Cry in No Man’s Land While a Bird Dies in a Gilded Cage
In March 2027 I will be playing Consuelo in Unfinished Women Cry in No Man’s Land While a Bird Dies in a Gilded Cage by Aishah Rahman.
In dual story lines, virtuoso saxophonist Charlie Parker contemplates his life as he dies, while a group of young unwed mothers wrestle with their sense of the future and the fates of their children. Music suffuses the atmosphere as the breath of life in these parallel stories where pleasure, pain, heartbreak, and desire comingle.
